Three restaurants are confirmed. The signature ocean-front restaurant will focus on modern Asian cuisine — Hokkaido scallops with yuzu kosho, or Hainanese chicken rice with a twist. The steakhouse is described as chophouse-style, with dry-aged cuts and a Californian wine list. The third is a Michelin-starred omakase bar, which means counter seating, a chef’s tasting menu, and a sake pairing option. All three will be open to guests from Patina and the Ritz-Carlton, so expect a lively atmosphere at dinner. Breakfast will likely be served in-villa or at a casual café in the marina village.

The house reef

The lagoon at Fari Islands is natural, not dredged, so the reef begins just metres from the beach. Patina and the Ritz-Carlton guests already snorkel here daily, spotting rays, reef sharks, and schools of batfish. The water is calm and shallow near the shore, making it well-suited to beginners. For deeper dives, the resort’s dive centre—operated by Dive Butler—runs trips to nearby thilas and kandus. The best months for mantas are December through April, but the reef is lively year-round.

Signature experiences

The Fari Marina Village is the social engine of the archipelago. It houses an art gallery, a James Turrell Skyspace installation, and a beach club with a curved infinity pool. Guests will have access to all of it, plus the marina’s boutiques—The Rake for menswear, Mrs Rake for womenswearand a gelato truck that serves vegan soft-serve. The resort’s own yacht, Adastra, is a 40-metre silver-hulled vessel that can host private dinners or overnight charters. Sunset dhoni cruises are complimentary, and the dive centre offers PADI courses as well as guided snorkel trips. For land-based activities, there’s a gym, a spa, and a kids’ club at Patina that’s solar-powered and focused on marine education.

Transfer

is a 45-minute speedboat ride from Malé International Airport. The resort will arrange the transfer; no seaplane is required. If you’re coming from another atoll, private charters can be booked through the concierge. The marina village has its own dock, so you can arrive by yacht if you prefer.

Who it suits

Fede guides couples who want a honeymoon with options—secluded villas by day, lively dinners and cocktails by night. Groups of friends or families who like the idea of hopping between three resorts without repacking. Foodies who want a Michelin-starred sushi bar within steps of their villa. And anyone who’s ever felt the Maldives can be a little too quiet; is designed to fix that. If you’re the type who books a resort and never leaves the property, you’ll still have plenty of space to yourself. But if you want to mix it up, the marina village is right there.

The honest bit

The island is man-made. That means dredged sand, not the powdery white beaches you’ll find on natural atolls. The vegetation is still young, so the jungle feel is missing — landscaped gardens, not wild palms. The marina village can get busy in the evenings, especially when all three resorts are full. And because is new, service might be polished but not yet seamless. If you’re comparing it to a 20-year-old Four Seasons, expect a few rough edges. But if you’re okay trading a little wilderness for a lot of energy, it’s a trade-off worth making.
