Transfers: the fine print
COMO Maalifushi is a 55-minute seaplane flight from Malé. The resort handles all transfers, so you’ll be met at the airport and escorted to the private COMO lounge in the seaplane terminal. Seaplanes only fly during daylight, so if your international flight lands after 4 p.m., you’ll overnight in Malé and fly out the next morning. I can book the airport hotel for you—just let me know.
Is COMO Maalifushi adults-only?
No—it’s family-friendly. The Play by COMO kids’ club runs daily activities for 4–12-year-olds, and the resort offers babysitting. Teens can join surf lessons, diving, or fishing trips.
What’s the difference between a beach suite and a beach villa?
Suites are around 1,000 sq ft with a single bedroom; villas add a separate living room and a larger deck. Both have direct beach access and private pools.
Can I dive the house reef?
Yes. The reef starts at the beach and drops into a channel frequented by turtles and reef sharks. The on-site dive center runs PADI courses and guided dives to 15 nearby sites.
Is the private-island picnic worth it?
Good for couples and families. Lavadhoo has a perfect sandbank, a shaded picnic area, and a lagoon shallow enough for kids. The resort sets up lunch, drinks, and loungers—you just show up.
What’s Shambhala cuisine?

Do I need to book seaplane transfers in advance?
