Dhigu’s house reef and marine life

Dhigu shares a house reef with Naladhu and Veli. The reef isn’t as vibrant as some in the Maldives, but it’s still home to lionfish, octopus, reef sharks, eels, and countless colourful fish. The water is crystal clear, and the shallow areas are well suited to snorkelling. Kayaks and snorkelling gear are free to use, and the resort can arrange guided snorkelling trips or diving excursions. If you’re a diver, the South Male Atoll has several dive sites within easy reach, including wrecks and channels known for manta rays and whale sharks (seasonal).

The overwater villas sit directly above the reef, so you can snorkel straight from your deck. The beach villas are a short walk from the water, but the resort provides a boat service to the best snorkelling spots if you prefer.
