The honest bit

South Male Atoll is closer to the airport, so you’ll hear the occasional speedboat or seaplane. The reefs are healthy but not as pristine as those in Baa or Raa Atoll—expect turtles and reef fish, not whale sharks. Some resorts here are on artificial islands, so the beaches are manicured rather than wild. And while October is quieter than December, it’s not empty; book at least three months ahead for the best villa locations.

Transfer logistics

All resorts in South Male Atoll use speedboats or luxury yachts. Transfers run 24 hours, so late arrivals are no problem.
