Diving & Snorkelling

The house reef begins where the sand ends. A short swim from the beach puts you over coral gardens patrolled by turtles and schools of fusilier. The resort’s on-site dive centre runs two-tank morning trips to the atoll’s signature sites: Kuredu Express for adrenaline, Fushifaru Thila for macro, and the famous Shipyard wreck for history. Night dives over the house reef reveal sleeping parrotfish and the occasional reef shark. Snorkellers get the same access—gear is included in the all-inclusive plan, so you can jump in whenever the mood strikes.

For something slower, the resort’s glass-bottom boat tours run daily, offering a dry view of the same reef you might snorkel later. Sunset dolphin cruises are a staple; the crew keeps the music low so you can hear the clicks and whistles over the waves.

The OBLU Spa is a low-slung pavilion wrapped in timber screens. Treatments lean on local ingredients: coconut oil, frangipani, and crushed coral scrubs. The signature Kanifushi Massage blends Swedish strokes with Maldivian pressure points, designed to release the tension of long-haul flights. Couples can book side-by-side overwater cabins for sunset sessions. Yoga classes run on the beach at dawn, and the resort’s small gym is open 24 hours—quiet enough to use while the rest of the island sleeps.

Kids Club

The OBLU Kids’ Club is a bright, airy space stocked with games, books, and a shallow splash pool. The programme runs in two-hour blocks, morning and afternoon, so parents can sneak off for a spa treatment or a dive. Activities are split by age: under-5s do sandcastle contests and fish-feeding, while older kids try coconut-husk weaving and Maldivian dance lessons. The club’s staff are trained in early-years education, and the resort keeps a low 1:4 ratio to ensure every child gets attention. Babysitting is available after hours for a fee.

Excursions

The all-inclusive plan covers one excursion per day, so you can island-hop without watching the clock. For something more active, the resort arranges guided fishing trips—trolling for tuna at dawn, or handline fishing off the reef at dusk. Manta ray snorkelling trips run from May to October, when the currents bring the rays into the atoll’s cleaning stations. Private sunset dhoni charters are bookable for groups; the boat comes with a crew, drinks, and a sound system.
