Getting there

A direct seaplane from Velana International Airport takes forty minutes. The resort’s branded lounge at the seaplane terminal is small but functional; a short speedboat hop from Hurawalhi (Kudadoo’s sister property) finishes the journey in under ten minutes.

• Seaplane schedule: daylight hours only, last flight typically departs Malé around 16:00.

The island & villas

Kudadoo is roughly 200 metres by 200 metres—small enough that you can walk the perimeter in under fifteen minutes. All fifteen residences float over the lagoon: thirteen one-bedroom (300 sqm) and two two-bedroom (380 sqm). Each has a 44 sqm infinity pool, an indoor lounge, a bathroom with double vanity and bathtub, and an outdoor deck with hanging sofa and dining table.

• Villa numbering: 2–8 face open ocean; 9–15 look toward Hinnavaru island—request the former for maximum privacy.
• Glass-bottom sections: in the deck and bathroom floor let you watch fish without getting wet.
• Staff villas: located on the island itself, out of sight from guest areas.

The ‘Anything, Anytime, Anywhere’ concept

This is Kudadoo’s all-inclusive philosophy. There are no menus, no set meal times, and no extra charges for premium beverages, spa treatments, diving, motorised water sports, or private excursions. The only exclusions are PADI certifications, ultra-premium champagnes like Dom Pérignon, caviar, boutique purchases, and dining at the underwater restaurant 5.8 on Hurawalhi.

• Breakfast: can be served floating in your pool, on the beach, or in The Retreat.
• Dining: chefs prepare dishes from a vast international repertoire—lobster, wagyu, snapper ceviche, and lychee desserts are guest favourites.
• Spa: unlimited treatments in the overwater Sulha Spa or in your villa’s private spa room.
• Activities: jet-skiing, wakeboarding, flyboarding, diving, paddle-boarding, and big-game fishing are all included.

Dining & drinks

The Retreat houses the main restaurant, bar, and wine cellar. Dining is unscripted: you choose the dish, the time, and the location—beach, villa, sandbank, or even the pool deck. The wine list includes Ruinart, Louis Roederer, and Taittinger; cocktails are made with fresh tropical fruits and premium spirits. Dietary restrictions are handled seamlessly—inform your butler on arrival.

Spa & wellness

Sulha Spa is a two-treatment-room sanctuary with a Himalayan salt chamber, mixed-sex sauna, steam room, and nail bar. Treatments range from 60-minute massages to 120-minute holistic rituals. Because everything is unlimited, guests often book two sessions a day—one in the morning to wake up, another at sunset to unwind.

House reef & snorkelling

The house reef encircles the island and is accessible from most villas. Coral health is good, especially in front of villas 2–5 and near The Retreat. Marine life includes blacktip reef sharks, turtles, rays, and dense schools of anthias and butterflyfish. Snorkelling gear is provided; guided tours are included but rarely needed—most guests simply step off their deck and explore.

Activities & excursions

All non-motorised and motorised water sports are included: jet-skis, wakeboards, flyboards, paddle-boards, kayaks, and windsurfing. Certified divers can enjoy unlimited house-reef dives; PADI courses are extra. Excursions include sunset dolphin cruises, sandbank picnics on Dream Island (shared with Hurawalhi), and private beach dinners. Land-based options are limited to a paddle-tennis court and gym.

Exclusive-use buyout

The entire island can be reserved for groups of up to thirty guests. All fifteen residences, The Retreat, and the watersports centre become private. Buyouts are popular for weddings, milestone birthdays, and corporate retreats—message Fede to discuss dates and inclusions.

Sustainability

Kudadoo is the first luxury resort in the Maldives to run entirely on solar energy. The design by Yuji Yamazaki emphasises natural ventilation and locally sourced materials, reducing the need for air-conditioning. Single-use plastics are banned; reef-safe sunscreen is provided in most villas.

Who is Kudadoo for?

Couples who want total privacy—there is no kids’ club and the island is too small to attract families. Honeymooners who value flexibility over fixed schedules. Small groups celebrating a special occasion. Wellness seekers who want unlimited spa access without tallying costs. A good rule:: if you’ve ever wished a Maldives resort would simply disappear everyone else, Kudadoo is as close as it gets.

Who might prefer elsewhere?

Travellers who crave a large, lush island with multiple restaurants and nightlife. Families with young children—there are no facilities for kids under fifteen. Guests who want a beach villa; Kudadoo is overwater only. Those who prefer a resort with a dramatic arrival jetty or underwater restaurant on-site.
