Honest takes on hotels
— the top tier —

His top picks.

Resorts he'd send anyone to without thinking twice. The "if you only had one trip" tier.

— honest takes —

What he actually thinks.

A sample of the candid feedback Fede has captured on resorts. The full set lives quietly across each resort's page — these are eight standouts.

Adaaran Club Rannalhi

Villas are semi detached and/or in blocks so privacy is limited. Not bad for the price but something to keep in mind.

Adaaran Meedhupparu Prestige

Overpriced for what you get — you share facilities with a 3★ island next door. Better options nearby.

Amilla Maldives

Does not have the best beaches nor lagoon so if beaches are your top priority then go elsewhere. It does have an amazing and easily accessible reef, and gorgeous modern villas.

Ananea Madivaru Maldives

Island is brand new and still feels artificial. Don't expect a lush jungle yet — give it a couple more seasons.

Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives

Lagoon is infested with seaweed and seagrass + no house reef

Baglioni Resort Maldives

Encircled by sea walls, which kills the natural feel. If sea walls are a dealbreaker, look at the entry-level beach villas, 2BR beach villas, or water villas — those are the better picks here.

Brennia Kottefaru Maldives

Island maintenance is not up to par to what I'd expect with a resort of this category, and my guests have expressed bad feedback on food and service.

Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives

Nice modern product, but the island will still take 3-4 years to actually become nice and lush. I'd avoid for the time being unless your priority is
